March 18, 2013 - A search committee at Louisiana State University (LSU) made a recommendation earlier today to offer the presidency of the university to F. King Alexander, current president of California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). The announcement was made by CSULB.

Alexander, who has served as the president of CSULB since 2006, is expected to visit LSU later this week, according to the announcement. The presidential search committee recommended Alexander for the position to the LSU Board of Supervisors today. The board is expected to take action at a special meeting March 27.

It was widely reported late last year that Alexander was a finalist for the position of chancellor for the 23-campus California State University System, which is headquartered in Long Beach.
