May 22, 2012 – On May 1, co-owners Matt and Kat Engel and Scarlet and Desiree Penaloza opened Make Collectives in the East Village Arts District. Located at 430 E. 1st St., the self-described “lifestyle shop” features a stock of unique vintage home furniture, décor, vinyl records and more. The store also carries the LaFemme Vintage collection, which is comprised of handpicked quality vintage clothing and accessories, including dresses, purses, jewelry and more. To celebrate the beginning of the business, the store is hosting a grand opening celebration on Saturday, June 9, from 5-10 p.m. Make Collectives is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. and is closed on Monday.
