Born 2 Win Academic & Performing Arts Youth Academy Opens Downtown

June 5, 2012 – On June 25, the Born 2 Win Academic & Performing Arts Youth Academy (B2W) will open its doors and begin its summer day camp program at 110 W. Ocean Blvd., Suite 15, in Downtown Long Beach’s historic Ocean Center Building. Founded in San Francisco by Ameerah A. Massey (pictured) and Ericka Green, the academy offers several programs, tutorials and workshops year-round to help stimulate, challenge and inspire the talents of children. Massey, who worked as a 2nd grade teacher in Long Beach before moving to Northern California, chose Long Beach as the location for B2W’s second facility because she had “such a connection with the kids here,” she said. “I love this community and I want to engage young people in a different way. I know it’s cliché to say, but the world really is your oyster. There are so many options for youth to take advantage of.” B2W’s summer day camp, which features a variety of performing arts courses in an accelerated academic curriculum for children between the ages of 5 and 10, operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, from June 25 to August 31.
