July 17, 2012 – Janice Ahlgren and Charles Feder, owners of Rossmoor Pastries bakery, located at 2325 Redondo Ave. in Signal Hill, are seen fueling up one of the company’s 14 compressed natural gas (CNG) delivery vans at the firm’s own compression station. Feder said he has expanded his “green fleet,” which also includes three CNG cars, since purchasing his first CNG van in 2006. The business owner said his switch to CNG has enabled the company to reduce fuel costs, since CNG only costs $1 per gallon as opposed to regular gasoline that costs close to $4 per gallon. Feder said he supports any state legislation that “helps clean up the air,” adding, “I know so many people who talk and don’t do anything, but we actually did.” (Photograph by the Business Journal’s Thomas McConville)
