July 17, 2012 – Kronos Golf founders Mike Buchfuhrer, right, and Phillip Lapuz are on a mission “to restore the integrity of putter-making,” according to a press release. In 2010, Buchfuhrer, a graduate of Long Beach Poly High School, partnered with Lapuz, a Carlsbad native who was raised around the putter milling industry, to perfect the putter. Now, two years later, the duo released their first model, the Touch. The Kronos Touch is available at 340 grams and 350 grams. More than 30 percent of Kronos Golf’s putter sales are in Japan, and several retailers in both Northern and Southern California have begun carrying the Touch. In Long Beach, golfers can purchase Kronos’ putter at The Fitting Studio, 3701 Pacific Pl. According to Buchfuhrer, Kronos Golf will launch nationwide at the Professional Golf Association Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida, in January 2013.
