July 31, 2012 – Catalina Express opened its new, spacious terminal last week below the Vincent Thomas Bridge at Berth 95 in San Pedro. Known as the Catalina Sea and Air Terminal, the facility is also home to Island Express Helicopter. In addition to its ticketcounter, the terminal includes a California Bistro with Chef Laurel Lyman, a beer and wine lounge, ATM and tour desk offering Santa Catalina Island Company and Catalina Adventure Tours activities. Catalina Express President/CEO Greg Bombard said the new terminal will revitalize the waterfront and allow passengers to relax before departure. “We’re pleased with the results of our new terminal and the design features created by Watermark Development of Southern California, the architect and builder,” Bombard said. “They really get it that our mission here is to continually upgrade our facilities and service, and the new terminal clearly shows that.” Catalina Express has a fleet of eight boats departing from terminals in San Pedro, Long Beach and Dana Point.
