Sculpture Remembers The Late Mark Bixby

Markl Bixby Memorial

August 14, 2012 – A stainless steel sculpture memorial known as the “Wave” was dedicated last Friday, August 10, in rememberance of the late Mark Bixby, who died last year. Located at the corner Termino Avenue and Olympic Plaza by the Belmont Plaza Pool, the “Wave” was created by local metal artist Patrick Vogel. “The sculpture represents Mark’s love of the ocean, his passion for active living, and depicts his life, just before his death, as a ‘wave’ at its crest, powerful and ready to break,” according to a statement released by the Bixby family and Bikeable Communities, which hosted the dedication.
