October 9, 2012 – Lou Anne Bynum has been named executive vice president of Long Beach City College. She has served the college for 12 years as the vice president of economic and resource development, and continues her service under the division of college advancement and economic development. In her new role, Bynum will work directly with LBCC Superintendent-President Eloy Ortiz Oakley in coordinating the college’s executive team, working toward the goals of the college and carrying out Oakley’s duties in his absence. “I strongly believe that Long Beach City College is a statewide leader in job creation, job training and economic development,” Bynum said in a statement. “I look forward to serving LBCC in new and exciting ways.” Bynum holds a master’s degree from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach.
