Kafe Neo Celebrates 5th Anniversary With ‘Greek Block Party’ October 21

Kafe Neo 5th Anniversary

October 9, 2012 – This month, Kafe Neo celebrates its fifth anniversary of offering American food with a Greek twist. The restaurant, located at 2800 E. 4th St., is celebrating the milestone with a Greek Block Party on Sunday, October 21 from 2-6 p.m., featuring Greek bands, a dance performance by local Greeks, a beer garden and outdoor barbecue. Kafe Neo opened on October 17, 2007, on the site of what once was an auto repair shop owned by Dennis Sverkos. When Sverkos retired, his sons Gus and Pete decided to open “an American Kitchen with Greek Soul.” The menu features items inspired by their mother, Effe, who instilled in them the importance of a home-cooked meal. “Getting to this point is a huge celebration for all of us at Kafe Neo,” co-owner Gus Sverkos said in a statement. “This party is a way to share a little time with our loyal customers and the neighborhood and to give back to our community.” For more information, call 562/987-1210.
