Atlantic Studio Relocates To The East Village Arts District

Atlantic Studio

October 23, 2012 – Atlantic Studio hosted its grand reopening on October 13 as Atlantic Studio 425 at its new location in the East Village Arts District. The business originally opened on Atlantic Avenue, spending seven years at 226 Atlantic Ave. from 1980 to 1987, and then moved to 2310 E. 4th St. near Retro Row, where it had been operating for 25 years. The new, 4,500-square-foot, two story salon, located at 425 E. 4th St., shares the neighborhood with Fingerprints Music and Berlin Bistro. The building, which was formerly office space occupied by JR Van Dijs, Inc., was rebuilt and renovated by owner Janet Martin. “I graduated beauty school in Long Beach and worked in The Marketplace for a year before I got the itch to open my own salon,” Martin said in a statement. “Our new motto is ‘Simplify’ and ‘If you build it, they will come,’ and that’s just what we’ve done.” Atlantic Studio 425 is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
