Schools First Credit Union

December 17, 2013 – A new credit union opened in Belmont Shore on October 21. SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union’s branch at 4725 E. 2nd St. is the company’s 42nd branch. Back in 1934, approximately 126 school employees in Orange County pooled $1,200 to form the Orange County Teachers Credit Union. The organization changed its name to SchoolsFirst Credit Union in 2008 to reflect its geographic expansion. In 2011, the credit union welcomed its 500,000th member. SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
