December 6 – The Greenhouse opened in the East Village Arts District at 149 Linden Ave., Suite C, on November 12. The establishment, located in Sipology Coffee’s former residence in Long Beach’s historic Broadlind Building, places an emphasis upon healthy eating by offering its customers quality coffee, tea and food prepared with fresh ingredients. It also focuses on practicing green business methods by purchasing items from businesses such as Rose Park Roasters, which use bicycles to deliver its locally roasted coffee beans to The Greenhouse. While waiting for their order, customers can browse through the two-story space’s adjoining art gallery. “We envision The Greenhouse to be a place for people to have quality coffee with a great atmosphere,” said owner Hend Elarabi, pictured with Andrew Phillips, co-owner of Rose Park Roasters. The Greenhouse is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call 562/491-1111. (Photographs by the Business Journal’s Thomas McConville){addthis off}
