Boeing Sets Industry Record
In 2017, The Boeing Company set an industry record, delivering 763 commercial airplanes, the company announced today. Boeing also delivered more commercial airplanes than any other manufacturer for the sixth year running, a feat the firm attributed to demand for its 737 and 787 jets. Boeing developed a backlog of 912 net orders amounting to 5,864 airplanes valued at $134.8 billion.

Long Beach City Council Voting On Union Support
During its meeting today (which is underway), the Long Beach City Council is voting on whether or not to support the largest trade union of public employees in the country in a Supreme Court case regarding union and governmental rights to negotiate fees paid by public employees who decline union membership. Long Beach Medical Care Facilities Receive Honors For Nursing Practice
MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center and MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach have been honored by The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program. This represents the highest national standard for nursing practice, and it is the second time these facilities have received the accolade.
Law Firm Changes Name To Add Senior Partners
The law firm of Floyd, Skeren & Kelly, LLP, which is headquartered in Westlake Village and operates a Long Beach office, has changed its name to Floyd, Skeren, Manukian and Langevin following the retirement of senior partner Todd Kelly. Amanda Manukian and John M. Langevin are now name partners. The firm specializes in criminal cases, business law and family law.
