The Long Beach Quarterly Economic Forum returns for its second installment with a virtual event Thursday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The forum, a partnership between the Cal State Long Beach Department of Economics and the Long Beach Economic Partnership, will focus on the hospitality and tourism industry with an update from the Long Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. One key topic will be the convention center’s shift to virtual experiences.

Aerospace giant Boeing, the Southern California Food Allergy Institute and chef Uyen Kirshenbaum of Kirsh Bakery also will be featured. Speakers also include Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia and 9th District Councilman Rex Richardson.

Economists Robert Kleinhenz and Seiji Steimetz will close out the event with national, regional and local economic updates followed by a Q&A.

Prior to 2020, the Long Beach Economic Forum was an annual event taking place in the spring. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic forced a change, resulting in a virtual, quarterly format. The first event was held in August.
