Dr. J. Mario Molina, former CEO and chairman of Molina Healthcare, has led the acquisition of 17 clinics previously operated by Molina Medical Management, a subsidiary of Molina Healthcare. Golden Shore Medical, a new company headed by Molina, took over ownership and operations of the clinics today. Clinics are located in Long Beach, Wilmington and other areas of Los Angeles County, as well as within three other counties. The clinics serve 120,000 patients, according to an announcement from Golden Shore Medical.

“In 1980, my family opened the first Molina Medical clinic in the Long Beach area. While much has changed in the health care industry since we opened that first clinic, what hasn’t changed is our dedication to providing compassionate care of the highest quality to the patients we serve,” Molina, who is the owner and president of Golden Shore Medical, stated. “With the acquisition of these clinics and the launch of the Golden Shore network, we are continuing a commitment to community healthcare access, unbroken for nearly 40 years.”
