(1:05 p.m.) Long Beach, CA – The Business Journal has learned that three more companies will call Douglas Park home later this year, and a fourth is expected to move into its new headquarters this month.

Torrance-based Simplehuman is expanding to Douglas Park in September. It signed a lease for a new 220,000-square-foot building in Pacific Pointe East adjacent to Skylinks golf course. Simplehuman, which “designs tools that help people become more efficient at home,” and which Fortune magazine referred to as the “Apple of houseware,” was founded in 2000.

Human Touch, a wellness solutions company on the 3000 block of Walnut Avenue in Long Beach, is relocating its headquarters to an 110,000-square-foot building at Pacific Pointe East. The building will be ready for occupancy next month.

New York-based MC2 is increasing its Southern California presence by signing a lease for a 32,000-square-foot building under construction on McGowen Street. Construction will be completed in November. MC2 designs, builds and manages integrated marketing programs for events, exhibits and brand environments. This will be its 16th location in the U.S.

A May 18 move-in date is scheduled for United Pacific, an owner and operator of gas stations and convenience stores in the Western U.S. The 69-year-old company is relocating its headquarters – and more than 100 employees – from Gardena to a 41,000-square-foot building at the corner of Worsham and Cover.
