Harbor Freight Tools will open a new store in Long Beach this spring, the company announced today.
The store will be located at 530 E. 33rd St., and construction has already begun, using local workers and companies from the surrounding Long Beach area, according to a statement.
An official opening date will be announced closer to opening.
“We’ve been looking to open a location in Long Beach for a number of years so that we can provide the tools and equipment at tremendous values to the community,” said Trey Feiler, Harbor Freight Tools senior vice president of real estate and construction, in a statement. “In addition to finding a great location, we were attracted by the availability of great associates in the Long Beach area, and we look forward to having them join the Harbor Freight team.”
The Long Beach location will take over the former site of Royal Buffet, just north of the 405 Freeway, which burned down in 2016. The new store is expected to bring between 25 and 30 new jobs to the community, including sales and logistic supervisors, senior associates, sales associates and seasonal opportunities.
